Real estate aerial video. They’re flying everywhere!!

Real Estate Aerial Video is showing up everywhere

Say hello to real estate agents’ newest, most unexpected selling tool. UAVs are flying through mansions, strip malls and skyscrapers to give buyers’ bird’s-eye views and sellers the upper hand. Check out what a brokerage services director said about UAVs and properties.DJI Phantom in flight during real estate aerial video shoot
“Everyone has seen a floor plan. It’s boring,” said Cushman & Wakefield industrial brokerage services director Julia Rettig. “With UAVs, there’s that wow factor. You get a camera in corners you couldn’t reach and … you’ve elevated your ability to sell something a thousandfold.” A stabilized camera mount keeps the high-resolution and real estate aerial video sharp and smooth, and a monitor on the pilot’s two-joystick controller shows what the UAV ”sees” along with typical cockpit-type information. I’d like to make a distinction as well. I like to use the term UAV as in unmanned aerial vehicle and not the word drone. A drone is an aircraft that is piloted by a program or through progamming of a ground station. A UAV, on the other hand isn’t but can be and thus there is the distinction. Most of the pilots flying real estate shots are using the UAV and we’re piloting them by hand so we can get the real estate aerial video that works for the marketing it’s meant to support. Aerial Real Estate Video : Commercial Use?

Aerial Real Estate Video and their Commercial Use.

The answer to the legality question, is commercial uav use legal for aerial real estate video? This is an easy one to answer. In short, yes. In order for commercial use of UAVs/remote controlled model airplanes to be illegal there would have to be federal statute, federal regulation and case law that in any wayaerial real estate video uav flying around house regulates the operation of RCMA. There isn’t. As a matter of fact the FAA is in the process of coming up with such laws and has reported they will have regulations in place by next year. So, for now, I’m going to continue to move forward with my work on aerial real estate video for agents and property owners.
You can read here on the legality issues of aerial real estate video and laws Personally, I think the real issue with flying the UAV around properties lies in the privacy issue. Sky Eye will always have the permission to fly anywhere, period. This will include letting neighbors know that we will be collecting photographs and video imagery of the property next door and we will always strive to keep their personal property out of the shots. If we do have an issue where the aerial real estate video does include it we will cut it out with our software. If you have any questions on our privacy policy please contact us.
